Heirloom Path began with a straightforward observation: most Malaysian households hold a remarkable quantity of family records — photographs, certificates, handwritten notes, correspondence — scattered across boxes, phones, and the memories of individual family members. When the people who held that knowledge are no longer present, the records become fragments.
The practice was founded to address that gap not by digitising or interpreting records, but by helping households give them structure. A printed family timeline. A catalogued folder of documents. An updated heritage catalogue passed from one generation to the next.
Our work is deliberately non-advisory. We do not tell households what their records mean, how to act on them, or what decisions to make. We help them know what they have, where it is, and how to find it years from now.

The People Behind the Programme
Siti Lim
Founding Facilitator
Siti leads all household cataloguing sessions and developed the generation-line methodology that underpins each programme. She has worked with more than sixty households across Klang Valley.
Ahmad Razif
Records Organiser
Ahmad manages the physical organisation and printing of household catalogues. He holds a background in archival arrangement and brings that discipline to every records folder produced by the practice.
Nurul Wahida
Client Liaison
Nurul coordinates all household enquiries, session scheduling, and follow-up communications. She ensures each household's journey through the programme runs without difficulty from first contact to catalogue delivery.
How We Work
Every programme at Heirloom Path follows consistent protocols designed to protect the household's materials, maintain an accurate record, and produce a catalogue that remains usable for years.
Document Custody Protocol
Original documents are never removed from the household's possession during sessions. We work with what is present in the room and return every item to the household before leaving.
Confidentiality of Records
Session notes and catalogue drafts are held securely and shared only with the household. No family information is shared with third parties, used for research, or referenced in any promotional material.
Print-Ready Deliverables
Every catalogue and timeline is delivered in print-ready format using archival-quality materials. The printed output is the permanent record — not a digital file that can become inaccessible.
Household-Paced Sessions
We do not set information quotas per session. If a household needs time to locate materials or to discuss the placement of a record, the session accommodates that. Completeness matters more than speed.
Scope Transparency
Heirloom Path does not interpret documents, provide legal or financial counsel, or act on behalf of the household with any external body. The scope is stated clearly at the start of every programme and does not change.
Quarterly Update Process
For the annual programme, each quarterly session follows a structured review checklist — new additions, corrections, and archival updates — so the catalogue reflects the household's current state at all times.
Family Records Curation in Malaysia
Household records in Malaysia take many forms. Certificates, land papers, photographs from decades past, handwritten correspondence between family members in different states, property documents, and school records — all of them gather in drawers and boxes with no consistent system of organisation. Over time, the informal knowledge that gave those records context fades, and the records themselves become increasingly difficult to understand or locate.
Heirloom Path works specifically within this landscape. Our facilitated programmes are designed for Malaysian households across Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley who want to give their existing records a lasting, readable structure. The output — a printed family timeline or a structured heritage catalogue — is a reference document built to survive the decades in which it will actually be needed.
Our approach draws on the disciplines of archival arrangement and household documentation. Sessions are calm and unhurried. Facilitators guide the household through the process of sorting, labelling, and ordering what it already has — without adding any layer of interpretation or advice. The result is a catalogue that the household authored, with a facilitator's help, and that the household owns entirely.
The three programmes at Heirloom Path — the Family Timeline Setup Workshop, the Four-Session Heritage Catalogue Programme, and the Annual Records and Heritage Programme — are designed to suit different stages of a household's cataloguing journey, from a first overview to a fully maintained records folder updated each quarter. Each programme is organisational and curatorial throughout, and does not overlap with any professional advisory role.
