Three Programmes for Every Stage of Cataloguing
From a single workshop to a year of quarterly sessions, Heirloom Path offers household heritage and records programmes sized for where your family's cataloguing journey currently stands.
← Back to HomeHow Each Programme is Structured
Every Heirloom Path programme follows the same underlying methodology: the household brings its records, photographs, and objects, and the facilitator guides the sorting, labelling, and sequencing process until a complete and indexed catalogue takes shape.
The method is designed to work without assumptions — different households hold different kinds of records, different proportions of photographs to documents, and different levels of prior organisation. The programme accommodates all of these.
What does not change across any programme is the non-advisory scope. Heirloom Path does not interpret documents, advise on decisions, or draft any papers. The output is always a structured catalogue that the household authored.
Pre-Session Briefing
The household and facilitator discuss what materials are available and what the household wants the catalogue to cover before the first session.
Facilitated Sorting Sessions
Records, photographs, and objects are sorted into categories, labelled with dates and locations where known, and arranged in a sequence.
Catalogue Compilation and Printing
The facilitator compiles the session outputs into a finished catalogue with an index, then delivers the printed version within the agreed timeframe.
Handover and Review
The completed catalogue is handed to the household with a brief walkthrough. For the annual programme, this step is repeated quarterly.
Family Timeline Setup Workshop
A three-hour workshop in which a household sketches out a printed family timeline — names, places, and dates across generations — that serves as a long-running reference document. The workshop is curatorial and organisational; it does not interpret any document and does not draft, prepare, or process legal papers.
- One facilitated three-hour session
- Printed family timeline document delivered within five working days
- Names, places, and dates mapped across all known generations
- Suitable for households with limited materials or limited time
- Serves as a foundation for a more detailed catalogue later
Four-Session Heritage Catalogue Programme
A four-session programme over two months during which a household catalogues family heritage — objects, photographs, and documents — into a structured printed catalogue with photographs and short notes. Sessions are organisational and curatorial. The programme does not interpret documents and does not provide professional counsel.
- Four facilitated sessions spaced across two months
- Objects, photographs, and documents all catalogued
- Printed catalogue with photographs and short descriptive notes
- Indexed for easy navigation by any family member
- Delivered within ten working days of the final session
Annual Records and Heritage Programme
A year-long programme that keeps a household's records folder and heritage catalogue up to date through quarterly facilitated sessions. Includes a setup, three quarterly check-ins, and a closing annual review. The programme is organisational and curatorial throughout. Households receive a structured records folder and an updated heritage catalogue at the end of the year.
- Setup session, three quarterly check-ins, one annual review
- Records folder maintained and updated quarterly
- Updated heritage catalogue delivered at year end
- New additions, relocations, and changes captured each quarter
- Programme remains organisational throughout — no advisory role

Protocols Shared Across All Programmes
Document Custody
Original documents are never removed from the household's possession. All materials are handled in the session space and returned before the session closes.
Confidentiality
Session notes, catalogue drafts, and all family information are held in confidence. Nothing is shared with third parties or used outside the programme without explicit household agreement.
Scope Transparency
The non-advisory scope is stated at the start of every programme and does not change. Heirloom Path does not interpret documents or provide counsel of any kind.
Archival Print Quality
All printed catalogues and timelines are produced using archival-grade materials selected for longevity. The print quality standard is applied uniformly across all three programmes.
Agreed Delivery Timeframes
Printed deliverables are completed within the timeframe agreed at programme commencement — five working days for the workshop, ten for the catalogue programme.
One Household per Programme
Sessions are never shared between households. The facilitator's time and attention during each session belong entirely to the household that engaged the programme.
All-Inclusive Programme Costs
Each programme price is fixed and inclusive of the printed deliverable. There are no hourly rates or add-on costs.
